Final Video

Week 5 Reflection

I feel that I really learned a lot of very useful information throughout this class. Before, I would have never known where to begin when creating any type of video. I can see many instances when this would be a very useful skill to have, not only for a district as a whole, but even just in the classroom. This team learning experience has been the best one I have ever been a part of! I always cringe when we are supposed to work in a team setting because you never know what your teammates will be like. However, this team was amazing! We all pitched in and really, I felt, ended up with a great Public Service Announcement! The team really helped me in understanding how to do all of the technical things that would have taken me hours to learn on my own, and I really appreciate all of the hard work that was put in by all of the members of our team!

Week 2 reflection

I found a list online of Open Source Video Editing software, and selected three to look up. The first one I chose because it was already on my computer. Windows Movie Maker seemed to be great if you only do a basic video edit.
Next, I selected to look up AviSynth which, judging by all I read about it beforehand, appeared to be very easy to use. I then watched a video on youtube which shows how it works, and felt like an idiot as they were typing in this C++ code and making it look as easy as they said it was, but I had no clue where to begin.
My last choice was the AVS Video Editor. This was my favorite that I looked at in terms of ease of use and it’s functionality. Like the Windows Movie Maker, it walks you through the process step by step, but it has many more features than the Movie Maker. The AVS Video Editor would be my choice of these three when editing a video for any project.

Week 1 Web Conference

Being able to interact with fellow students and professors, I believe, is very rewarding in this program. Because this entire program runs online, we miss that interaction that would normally take place in a classroom. But because of the magic of the same technology that allows this type of program to exist, we are able to also interact with one another in this way, and I am so glad for it!
